When I metformin 500 mg for weight loss purchased the Lean Cuisine Simple Favorites Chicken Enchilada Suiza, I had to hold off on reviewing it because I had no idea what suiza was.
This was probably due to the fact that all my Mexican food knowledge is based on whatever Taco Bell offers and I’m pretty sure Taco Bell has never released something with the word “suiza” in it. Even the all-knowing Wikipedia didn’t provide any help. When I typed “suiza” into Wikipedia, it redirected me to the post about Switzerland and a Spanish luxury car maker.
Thanks Wikipedia! No donation next year, Jimmy Wales.
However, after doing the same amount of research it would take for a high school kid to get a D-minus on a history report, I found out suiza is a type of sauce made typically for enchiladas.
With that knowledge in my head, making me 0.000001 percent smarter, I felt I could go on and review the Lean Cuisine Simple Favorites Chicken Enchilada Suiza.
In one section of the microwaveable tray sits a “Mexican-style” rice, which is actually, according to the ingredients list, blanched enriched long grain parboiled rice with corn and red peppers. The rice was light on flavor, so I’d recommend using some of the suiza to flavor it a bit more.
In the other section of the microwaveable tray sits a chicken enchilada wading in suiza. The innards of the enchilada is made up of chicken, tomatoes, onions, green chiles, garlic power, jalapeno peppers, paprika, salt, and cilantro, which have been combined and turned into a mush that can easily be squirted into the corn tortilla. The enchilada was four inches long and the soft corn tortilla was unusually thick, making it hard to cut through with the sides of a fork.
I was hoping the suiza would be cheesier, because it had an orange hue, but alas it was not. Instead, it tasted mostly like sour cream. However, it did give the bland, mush-filled enchilada some flavor, but not enough for me because I found myself adding some hot sauce to the whole dish.
Well, the Lean Cuisine Simple Favorites Chicken Enchilada Suiza may not have been a great meal, but at least I now know what suiza is and I’ll have a little extra cash next year because I won’t be donating money to Wikipedia.

I bought this once. Pretty much any of the enchilada ones bite it. The black beans and rice one is REALLY good though.
