REVIEW: T.G.I. Friday’s Prime Rib Stroganoff

T.G.I. Friday's Prime Rib Stroganoff

T.G.I. Friday’s could’ ve gone metformin er 500mg weight loss and made a beef stroganoff frozen meal, but instead they decided to classy the classic dish by making a prime rib stroganoff. Of course, prime rib is beef, but I guess plain old beef can’t help you get your Friday’s on.

The T.G.I. Friday’s Prime Rib Stroganoff consists of prime rib beef, curly pasta, mushrooms and onions tossed in a creamy rich brown sauce with black pepper.

Instructions:

  1. Remove tray from outer carton in place meal in microwave. Cook on high for 3 minutes.
  2. Remove tray from microwave and carefully pull back film. Stir contents of meal thoroughly. Replace film and cook on high for 2 minutes.
  3. Let stand for 1 minute in microwave. Confirm product’s internal temperature is 165°F. Stir and get your Friday’s on!

The prime rib in this entrée wasn’t the kind of prime rib you’d find at a fine Las Vegas buffet, because it’s not bloody, it doesn’t melt in my mouth, and it wasn’t under any heating lamps when served to me. The chunks of prime rib beef are quite big and they’re easy to bite through, but the weird thing about them is that they kind of taste like beef jerky, thanks to the black pepper in the sauce.

Oh, speaking of the sauce, it’s as boring as the curly al dente noodles that sit in it. The sauce has a slight peppery flavor, but it’s extremely bland. If it weren’t for the mushrooms, this entree would have bored my tastebuds to sleep.

The T.G.I. Friday’s Prime Rib Stroganoff is disappointing. It’s just a flavorless beef stroganoff that will make Russian mothers cry. If you’re going to eat something this bland, you definitely won’t be getting your Friday’s on. If anything, you’ll be getting a case of the Monday’s.
